The perfect candidate has a proven track record of suggesting and implementing Technical SEO recommendations, either in-house or agency side, helping businesses achieve more. Our team’s ability to communicate technical recommendations to those that are non-technical is what sets us apart. The perfect candidate will be a great communicator to stakeholders at all levels.
Our Technical SEO team works closely with the PPC, Content, CRO and Client services teams, to provide continuous support and strategic direction on client accounts. As part of the delivery team, you will be instrumental in providing the technical expertise that our clients love. You will make sure our clients’ businesses thrive, giving them confidence in our solutions-based approach.
What your day might look like
- Collaborating with our Relationship Managers, you will create data driven strategies that give our clients confidence in our solutions based approach.
- Performing Digital Marketing Audits and in-depth SEO site audits.
- Identifying, diagnosing and resolving technical SEO issues on client accounts.
- Confidently communicating search marketing strategies to our internal teams, and directly to clients, developers, and other key stakeholders.
- Continue your own professional development, learning from our in house team of technical experts and regular company wide training sessions to inspire you to do the best work of your career.
Skills required
Essential skills:
- To take initiative being the Technical SEO lead when handling client accounts.
- 4-5+ years Technical SEO experience in-house or within an agency.
- Proven knowledge of search marketing.
- Proven track record of achieving success in search.
- Proficiency in using tools such as: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Bing Webmaster Tools, SEMrush, Screaming Frog and similar tools/platforms.
- Understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Awareness of Google’s best practice guidelines.
- Knowledge of search algorithm evolution and search trends.
- The ability to develop and execute a search strategy.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Perform audits, analysis, and reporting on issues/opportunities.
- Creating SEO strategies that align with business goals and objectives to drive the organic growth of our clients.
- Must share our core team values.
Desirable skills:
- PPC knowledge,
- Knowledge of CRO and UX,
- Previous experience with site build and migration projects.

The Apprentice Challenge: Onions, Apiaries, Rowing Boats, and Dance Offs

The Apprentice Challenge is a much loved, and much anticipated part of the Footprint Digital calendar. Every quarter, we get the team out of the office for a day to try something completely new, learn from different groups of people, and tie it all back to our day jobs with a competitive marketing challenge. Over the past year, we’ve had four completely unique days out, organised by our incredible Head of People, Charlotte.
