Tom Bowden has been involved in digital marketing for over 20 years; however, his biggest interest in life is providing opportunities for young people in Malawi. He does this as trustee of Building Malawi and throughout the last 22 years of his life has built four libraries, two schools and the first and largest sports academy in the country’s capital, Lilongwe.
Tom is an advocate for continuous testing and exploration. His bestselling book Shoot the HiPPO: How to be a killer digital marketing manager is available on Amazon.
Tom pre-dates Google and before starting Footprint Digital as we know it today from his kitchen table, he held positions including Head of PPC, Head of Analytics & User Experience, and Head of Digital Marketing. He was an early Google Analytics Certified Partner member in the days when Google first launched Google Analytics.
During his career, Tom has developed global strategies for clients you will have heard of (Sony, Motorola, Cartoon Network, Google, Legal and General etc etc) and has delivered lectures for universities, trade bodies, and governments. The thing he likes most about running a digital agency is supporting his team to learn, play, and grow both personally and professionally.
Tom is coming to terms that he’s the guy that wrote a book about marketing. He’s worked with so many brilliant people and gleaned so much knowledge, he thought he ought to write it all down.
Tom is the person to talk to if you are interested in understanding the most effective way to build a team capable of adapting to the fast changing digital world, develop a winning strategy, generate business through search, and improve the conversion rate of your website.
