What can go wrong without technical support?
Without any technical input, you’re at serious risk of harming your website’s rankings.
Let’s use a common example. You may have a member of your team making a change that you believe is harmless, such as uploading a new blog post about your most popular service. Or you don’t have any technical budget as your website is currently ranking well.
But this could put you in danger of the following:
- Keyword cannibalisation. You may be targeting the same keyword with multiple pages without realising it. This can dilute your rankings for this term across the board. You’re best to just focus on one primary keyword per page (as well as any secondary and tertiary keywords).
- Keyword stuffing. Your page titles, meta descriptions, headers and body copy all need to naturally reference your chosen keywords. If you simply stuff them in at every given opportunity and hope for the best, your content will be seen as spammy, and NOT helpful for the user.
- Content without a purpose. Every page on your website should have a purpose. This means all pages should have a CTA (Call To Action) to prevent visitors from dropping off your website.
